GRDN: Mindful Productivity
A mindful productivity app designed to protect focus and cultivate consistency in a noisy digital world.
Description
GRDN combines lightweight project management with a social Pomodoro-style focus timer. During focus sessions, distracting apps like social media are blocked using iOS Screen Time controls — creating real friction against impulsive app switching. Sessions can be canceled, but doing so introduces a deliberate pause that reinforces intention rather than relying on rigid enforcement.
GRDN's social layer is built around quiet accountability. Users can start focus sessions with friends or view weekly focus stats — similar to Apple Fitness — without messaging, commenting, or feeds. The presence of others provides motivation and consistency without becoming a distraction itself.
GRDN helps users sharpen their focus and increase their peace, one intentional session at a time.
Challenges
Implementing reliable app blocking using iOS Screen Time APIs in a way that meaningfully reduces bypassing. Designing a calm, intuitive interface that supports deep focus without adding cognitive load. Creating social accountability without introducing feeds, messaging, or attention traps. Ensuring real-time synchronization and stability across devices without degrading performance.
