Apparel

Original apparel designs and ecommerce setups — including a Middle-Earth-style cartographic rendering of Los Angeles.

The story

This one started as pure inspiration: what would Los Angeles look like drawn as a corner of Middle-Earth? The answer became a series of map tees — a Venice version and a Topanga version — drawn by hand in Adobe Illustrator, the kind of shirt that means something to a local and makes a good souvenir for everyone else.

What we made

The maps themselves, and the machine that sells them. The shirts run on a print-on-demand stack — a Shopify storefront with Printify handling printing and fulfillment — so there is no inventory to hold and no order to pack. Design the artwork, wire the store, and the operation runs itself. It is the same stack we have set up for client ecommerce and print-on-demand projects; this page is the version we built for ourselves.

Where it stands

The designs are done and the stack is proven; the storefront is currently offline while we bring it back up. If you want a Venice or Topanga tee, say so on the contact page — demand is an excellent reason to hurry.
